The Ride Longer 72v 63Ah LBX battery is a high-capacity battery upgrade for the SurRon Light Bee X. Built with NMC pouch cells potted inside a stainless-steel case, it delivers 4536 Wh of energy for longer rides and stronger performance.
Why upgrade to a 72v 63Ah LBX battery?
Range is the number one limitation of a stock Light Bee. A bigger battery means longer rides, more laps and less time waiting on the charger. Moving to 72 volts also unlocks more performance when paired with a suitable controller. This 72v 63Ah LBX battery uses pouch cells potted in a stainless-steel case, which results in fewer internal connections, higher charging and discharging capability and significantly higher power density – more power in a smaller space.

Fits without seat extenders
This battery does not require seat extenders. It is supplied with an extender hinge and longer clip so it fits your Light Bee neatly. If you already have seat extenders fitted, it will still fit.
Controller and charger
Because this is a 72v battery, make sure your controller and charger are compatible with 72v. A 72v charger such as our 72v 20A fast charger is required – 60v chargers are not suitable.
Fitting tips
- Turn the bike off and remove the existing battery
- Fit the supplied extender hinge and longer clip as instructed
- Connect the QS8 harness to your controller-side wiring, making sure the connection is fully seated
- Secure the battery and check the seat closes properly before riding
Battery care tips
Lithium batteries last longest when they are looked after. Avoid storing the battery completely flat or fully charged for long periods – around half charge is ideal for storage. Charge in a dry, ventilated area away from flammable materials, use the correct charger for your battery voltage, and never charge a battery that is damaged, swollen or has been submerged. Let a hot battery cool down after a hard ride before charging.
