Description

This LBX bash plate is a strong, lightweight aftermarket skid plate made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for the SurRon Light Bee X. It protects the underside of your bike and your motor from rocks, logs and hard landings.

Why fit an LBX bash plate?

The underside of the Light Bee X takes a beating on rough trails. Rocks, roots and logs can strike the frame and motor, and a heavy hit can cause expensive damage. An LBX bash plate puts a tough barrier between the trail and your bike. HDPE is highly durable and can take rough treatment without bending or denting like some metal plates on the market.

  • Made from strong, lightweight high-density polyethylene
  • Highly durable – takes rough treatment without bending
  • Slides smoothly over rocks and logs
  • Protects your motor and frame from impacts
  • Black only

Why HDPE?

HDPE is a popular choice for skid plates because it is tough, light and slippery. Instead of catching on rocks, an HDPE plate tends to slide over obstacles, which helps keep your momentum on technical climbs and log crossings. It also does not bend out of shape after an impact the way thin metal plates can.

Fitting tips

  • Support the bike securely so you can work underneath
  • Clean the mounting area and check for existing damage
  • Fit the LBX bash plate and start every bolt by hand before tightening
  • Tighten evenly and check nothing rubs on the plate before riding

Great for technical riding

If you ride rocky trails, log crossings or enduro-style terrain, a bash plate is one of the first upgrades worth fitting. It gives you the confidence to tackle obstacles without worrying about damaging the motor.

Care tips

Check the mounting bolts regularly, especially after hard hits. Clear packed mud from behind the plate after wet rides, as trapped mud can hold moisture against the frame.

Product notes

Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), this lbx bash plate is light, tough and shrugs off hard knocks without bending. Its slippery surface helps you glide over rocks and logs while shielding the motor underneath. Available in black.

Because HDPE does not rust or corrode, the plate needs no upkeep – just check the mounting bolts now and then.
