Description
The Light Bee axle spacer kit is the part to buy if you are changing the OEM rear wheel on a SurRon LBX, Talaria or E-Ride Pro to a wider rim – for example a 16 inch or 18 inch wheel – and want to run a wider profile MX tyre.
Why do you need a Light Bee axle spacer kit?
When you fit a wider rim and tyre, the tyre can sit very close to the chain. The chain then rubs on the tyre knobs, wearing them away and creating noise and drag. This Light Bee axle spacer kit pushes the wheel out away from the chain, so less of your tyre tread contacts it. We cannot guarantee you will never have to shave your tyre, but it will substantially improve the spacing.

When to use it

Fitting tips
- Remove the rear wheel and keep track of the original spacers
- Fit the new spacers in the positions shown in the instructions
- Refit the wheel and check the sprocket still lines up with the chain
- Check the brake rotor sits centrally in the calliper and adjust if necessary
Check alignment
After fitting, spin the wheel and look carefully at the chain line and brake rotor. A misaligned chain wears quickly and can come off, and a rotor that rubs reduces braking performance. If anything is not right, stop and check the setup.

Going to a wider 16″ or 18″ rear rim and a fatter MX tyre on an LBX, Talaria or E-Ride Pro? Without extra clearance, the chain will rub the tyre’s side knobs. This light bee axle spacer kit moves the wheel outward, away from the chain line.
