Description
This 22S 81v battery charger is designed for SurRon Ultra Bee and Talaria Sting 81V (22S) batteries. Because of the higher voltage, it can draw up to 11 amps from the wall, so it is fitted with a 15A plug rather than a standard 10A plug.
Why choose this 81v battery charger?
High-voltage batteries need a charger that matches their voltage and cell count exactly. Using the wrong charger can damage the battery or simply fail to charge it. This 81v battery charger is matched to 22S packs, so you can charge your Ultra Bee or Talaria Sting high-power battery safely and properly.
- 22S 81v charger for Ultra Bee and Talaria Sting 81V batteries
- Fitted with a 15A plug
- Can draw up to 11 amps from the wall
- Matched to 22S battery packs
- Ideal as a replacement or second charger
Important: 15A outlet required
Because the charger can draw up to 11 amps, it is fitted with a 15A plug. In order to use the charger, you will need a 15A outlet. If you do not have a 15A outlet, you can get an adaptor from an electrical hardware store, or have a licensed electrician install a 15A outlet. Never modify the plug yourself.
A second charger at work or the track
Many riders keep a second 81v battery charger at a holiday house, workshop or track so they do not have to carry one back and forth. It is a convenient upgrade for anyone who rides in more than one place.
Charging safety
Always charge on a hard, non-flammable surface in a dry, well-ventilated area, and never leave a charging battery unattended for long periods. Keep the charger’s vents clear so it can cool, unplug it once charging is complete, and stop using any charger with a damaged cable or plug. Never charge a battery that is swollen, damaged or has been submerged in water.
Using the charger
- Plug the charger into a suitable 15A outlet or adaptor first
- Connect the charger to the battery, making sure the plug is fully seated
- Monitor the indicator and disconnect once charging is complete
- Let a hot battery cool before charging after a hard ride

Product notes
This 81v battery charger is for SurRon Ultra Bee and Talaria Sting 22S batteries. Because it can pull up to 11 amps – more than a standard socket is rated for – it comes with a 15A plug, which needs a 15A power point.
Only have 10A outlets? An adaptor from an electrical wholesaler or online store will let you plug in. It works well, but because the charger draws slightly over 10A there is a small chance it could trip a safety switch, depending on your home’s RCDs, RCBOs and wiring.
Prefer a 10A plug? Add a note at checkout and we will fit one. You lose the fast-charge capability, and a full charge from empty takes roughly seven hours.
