The LBX frame bearing kit is a complete refresh for the suspension and swing arm pivots on the SurRon Light Bee X. Everything comes in one 14-piece kit, so you can replace worn bearings and bushings in a single job instead of chasing parts one at a time.
What is in the LBX frame bearing kit?
The kit includes the parts that work together at the rear suspension pivots, plus the swing arm bearings and spacers:
- 2x triangle frame bearings (suspension bearings)
- 2x insert bushings for the suspension bearings
- 4x plastic washers for the suspension bearings
- 2x frame swing arm spacers (top hats)
- 4x deep-groove swing arm bearings
The first three items work together and should preferably be replaced at the same time. The swing arm spacers and deep-groove bearings can be used independently if you only need to service the swing arm pivot.
Why replace your frame bearings?
Bearings and bushings wear with every ride, and water, mud and pressure washing speed that up. Worn pivots create play in the rear end, clunks over bumps and a vague, unsettled feel. They also put extra stress on the frame, linkage and shock. Fitting a fresh LBX frame bearing kit tightens everything up and brings back the planted rear-end feel of a new bike.
Signs your bearings are worn
- Side-to-side play when you rock the rear wheel
- Clunking or knocking from the rear over bumps
- Notchy or gritty movement when cycling the suspension
- Visible rust or damaged seals on the bearings
Installation tips
- Support the bike so the rear wheel is unloaded and remove the shock, linkage and swing arm as needed
- Press bearings in and out squarely using the right tools – never hammer directly on a new bearing
- Clean the bearing bores and pivot bolts and use a quality waterproof grease on reassembly
- Torque all pivot bolts to specification and check the suspension moves freely
Make it last
After fitting a new LBX frame bearing kit, avoid aiming a pressure washer at the pivots, and re-grease them periodically, especially if you ride in wet or muddy conditions. Regular checks for play will catch wear early.
Fitment and compatibility
This kit suits the SurRon Light Bee X. It is not designed for the Ultra Bee or other brands.
