Description
The Version 2 Light Bee rotor guard is a rear brake disc guard for the SurRon Light Bee. It helps protect your rear rotor from rocks, logs and trail damage, so your brakes keep working the way they should.
Why fit a Light Bee rotor guard?
The rear brake rotor sits low and exposed on the Light Bee. A rock strike, log or rut can bend the rotor, which causes pulsing or rubbing brakes and can leave you with a weak rear brake mid-ride. Replacing a bent rotor costs far more than a guard. A Light Bee rotor guard puts a barrier in front of the disc to help keep it straight and true.

Who needs one?
If you ride rocky trails, creek beds, enduro loops or anywhere with logs and roots, a rotor guard is cheap insurance. It is especially useful for riders who take their Light Bee into tight bush where the rear of the bike is likely to drag over obstacles.
Fitting tips
- Support the bike so the rear wheel is clear of the ground
- Fit the guard to the mounting point as instructed and tighten the bolts evenly
- Spin the wheel and check the guard does not touch the rotor or calliper
- Re-check the bolts after your first ride
Check your rotor
When fitting a guard, inspect your current rotor for bends, scoring or heavy wear. A rotor that is already bent will not be fixed by the guard. If your rear rotor needs replacing, consider our 250mm front and rear rotor kit for a braking upgrade at the same time.

A bent rotor can also wear your brake pads unevenly and make the rear brake grab or pulse, so protecting the disc helps your whole braking system last longer.
