Choosing your spring rate
Use the spring sizing chart in the product notes below to find the correct rate for your weight for bikes fitted with the upgraded shock, linkage and triangle. The recommendations differ for the standard and extended swing arms, so confirm which one your bike has. Available combinations are shown in the options above.
Fitting tips
- Remove the shock from the bike before changing springs
- Use a proper spring compressor – never attempt to remove a spring without one
- Note your preload setting before removing the old spring
- Fit the new spring, reset preload and measure your sag
Setting sag
After fitting your new spring, measure rider sag with your riding gear on. If you cannot achieve the recommended sag with sensible preload, you may need the next spring rate up or down.

Choosing the right yss shock springs
These recommendations assume the upgraded rear shock, linkage and triangle are all fitted. Rear wheel travel depends on the swing arm: 205mm with the standard arm, 220mm with the upgraded extended arm.
Standard swing arm (205mm travel)
- Riders 65–85kg: 80nm
- Riders 85kg and over: 100nm
Extended swing arm (220mm travel)
- Riders 65–85kg: 100nm
- Riders over 85kg: 115nm
