Description
The Ultra Bee OEM spring is the stock 450lb rear shock spring fitted to the SurRon Ultra Bee. This genuine spring has been taken off a brand-new SurRon bike, so it is the exact rate and size your Ultra Bee was designed to run.
Why replace your Ultra Bee OEM spring?
Springs can sag over time, get damaged in crashes or need replacing after an upgrade that did not suit your riding. If you have fitted a stiffer or softer aftermarket spring and want to return to the factory setup, or your existing spring is damaged, the Ultra Bee OEM spring puts your rear suspension back to stock.
- Genuine OEM SurRon Ultra Bee rear shock spring
- 450lb stock spring rate
- Taken off a new bike, not used or salvaged
- Restores the factory suspension setup
- Ideal for returning a modified bike to stock
Is the stock spring right for you?
The 450lb spring suits the average rider weight the Ultra Bee was designed around. Heavier riders, or anyone doing big jumps, may prefer a firmer spring, while lighter riders might want something softer. If you are unsure which spring rate you need, tell us your weight and riding style and we can help.
Fitting tips
- Remove the rear shock from the bike before working on the spring
- Use a proper spring compressor – springs store a lot of energy
- Note the preload setting before you remove the old spring
- Reset preload and sag after fitting the new spring
Setting sag
After fitting, measure your rider sag with your riding gear on. Correct sag keeps the bike balanced front to rear and makes the most of the rear suspension travel. If you cannot reach the right sag with the stock spring, a different rate may suit you better.
Fitment and compatibility
This is the stock rear shock spring for the SurRon Ultra Bee. It is not designed for the Light Bee X or aftermarket shocks.

Ultra Bee OEM spring FAQ
What rate is the stock spring?
450lb.
Can I fit it myself?
Yes, if you have a spring compressor and experience working on shocks. Otherwise a suspension shop can fit it.
Is it genuine?
Yes. It is the stock spring taken off a new Ultra Bee.
Spring care
Keep the spring and shock body clean after muddy rides, and check for chips in the coating that could let rust start. When you service the shock, inspect the spring for cracks or uneven coils. A good spring keeps your rear end consistent, so it is worth a quick look every time you clean the bike.
