Choose the right version
Please make sure you are buying the correct version for your X-9000. The easiest way to tell is the label: Version 1 X-9000 controllers have the standard logo, while Version 2 controllers carry the “Powered by CYC” label. If you are unsure, send us a photo and we will confirm before you order.
Fitting tips
- Disconnect the battery and wait before working on the controller
- Remove the old heatsink carefully, noting the position of any seals, thermal pads and O-rings
- Clean the mating surfaces and replace thermal pads or O-rings if they are damaged
- Fit the new X-9000 heatsink, tighten the screws evenly and check the seal is seated properly
Keep it cool
Good heat transfer depends on clean surfaces and intact thermal pads. If your old pads are torn or compressed, replace them when you change the heatsink. Keep the fins free from packed mud so air can flow, and avoid blasting the seals with a pressure washer.
