This upgraded Ultra Bee shock spring is a YSS matte black spring for your SurRon Ultra Bee rear shock. Rated at 100nm / 550lbs, it can take some serious jumping and punishment and keeps your bike’s rear end nice and stiff.
Why upgrade your Ultra Bee shock spring?
The stock Ultra Bee rear spring is 450lb, which suits average riders and general trail riding. Heavier riders, or anyone who jumps or rides aggressively, can find the stock spring too soft – the rear sags, bottoms out on big hits and the bike feels unbalanced. A firmer Ultra Bee shock spring holds the rear up in its travel, resists bottoming and gives a more controlled, confident ride.

Fitting service
We offer an Australian fitting service for an extra $55. Select the fitting option, send in your Ultra Bee OEM shock, and we will use our compressing machine to remove your OEM spring and fit your new spring, then send both items back to you.
Is a firmer spring right for you?
If you are a heavier rider, carry extra gear, or ride hard with lots of jumps, a firmer spring is likely to help. Lighter riders who mainly trail ride may find the stock spring more comfortable. Not sure? Tell us your weight and riding style and we will help.
Fitting tips
- Remove the rear shock from the bike before working on the spring
- Use a proper spring compressor – never attempt to remove a spring without one
- Note the preload setting before you start
- Fit the new Ultra Bee shock spring, reset preload and check sag with your riding gear on
Set your sag
After fitting, measure rider sag and adjust preload to suit. Correct sag keeps the bike balanced and makes the most of the suspension.
