Description

E-Ride Pro Mini R: small bike, 72V punch

The E-Ride Pro Mini R proves that a compact electric dirt bike does not have to feel like a toy. Built around a 72V system, it squeezes genuine speed, strong torque and solid durability into a frame that is low, light and easy to manage – and E-Ride Pro designed it to work for lighter adults as well as younger riders.

E-Ride Pro Mini R 72V compact electric dirt bike for sale in Australia

Expect 8kW at peak, 230Nm at the rear wheel, a top speed of 70km/h and a seat just 678mm off the ground. That combination sits neatly above a basic pit bike yet below a full-size e-moto, in a package weighing only 48.5kg. Every bike carries our 12-month defect warranty for the first owner.

From $5,190.00 including GST. In stock. Off-road use only.

ChargingAround two hours for 20–90%

It is rare to find this much voltage and output paired with such a low, friendly seat, and that is what gives the E-Ride Pro Mini such broad appeal.

How the 72V drivetrain performs

With 3kW of continuous output and 8kW available at peak, the Mini R puts 230Nm through the rear wheel. It gets from standstill to 48km/h (30mph) in about three seconds and keeps going to 70km/h (43.7mph) – more than enough for tracks, trails and private property.

Regenerative braking can be set to several strengths, so you decide how much the bike slows when the throttle closes. Newer riders tend to prefer a light setting that feels natural, while a firmer setting helps manage speed on downhill sections and puts more energy back into the battery.

Range, battery and charge times

The Mini R draws on a 72V 30Ah pack. E-Ride Pro quotes a minimum of 64km at a steady 32km/h (20mph), stretching to around 99km at 16km/h (10mph). Real results depend on how heavy the rider is, the terrain and how much throttle gets used.

A 20–90% recharge is roughly a two-hour job – usually short enough to fit in over lunch before the afternoon session.

Why 72 volts matters on a compact bike

Compact electric dirt bikes usually make do with a lower voltage. Running at 72V puts the E-Ride Pro Mini in the same bracket as plenty of full-size e-motos, and that is how it extracts 8kW and 230Nm from a 48.5kg machine.

On the trail, that means harder acceleration, stronger hill climbing and a higher top speed than the 678mm seat height would suggest. It also gives the bike headroom: a beginner can ride it gently today and still find untapped performance a year from now.

Dimensions, wheels and brakes

Everything about the Mini R is scaled for smaller riders. The seat sits at 678mm (26.7in), the wheelbase is 1,070mm, the bars measure 710mm across and ground clearance measures 270mm. Weighing 48.5kg, it is simple to steer, lift back up and load into a trailer.

A 60/100-14 front and 80/100-12 rear tyre give it the classic 14/12 small-bike wheel combination. Mineral-oil brakes on 203mm front and 180mm rear discs handle stopping duties. The maximum load is 64.8kg, so weigh the rider in full gear before buying.

What the E-Ride Pro Mini costs

At $5,190.00 including 10% GST, the Mini R is the most affordable E-Ride Pro in our range. Crated delivery to any Australian address costs $250 per bike.

The 72V battery is included, along with our 12-month defect warranty for the first owner. The bike arrives in a crate and needs some assembly. For a 72V machine with 8kW on tap, it represents excellent value.

A bike that grows with the rider

The Mini R keeps a rider interested for a long time. The low seat and light weight make the first ride approachable, yet 8kW and 70km/h still deliver plenty of excitement once skills have developed.

The adjustable regen helps as well – start soft and dial it up over time. Outgrown the 64.8kg limit? Move up to the full-size SS 3.0 – it takes riders up to 137kg and reaching 100km/h.

Who is the E-Ride Pro Mini for?

E-Ride Pro built the Mini R to suit both lighter adults and younger riders. What really decides suitability is weight: the bike is rated for riders up to 64.8kg, and those under that figure (gear included) will get the most from it.

  • Kids and teens stepping up from a basic pit bike (always with adult supervision).
  • Beginners who want a low 678mm seat and a manageable 48.5kg weight.
  • Lighter adults after a fun, compact bike for the track or the farm.
  • Families wanting one bike that several riders within the weight limit can share.

If the rider is heavier, the SS 3.0 from E-Ride Pro is the better match.

Fitting the bike to the rider

A little setup time goes a long way, particularly for new riders:

  • Run a light regen setting while learning and increase it with confidence.
  • Adjust the levers so they can be reached easily with one or two fingers.
  • Roll the bars so the wrists stay straight when standing.
  • Choose tyre pressures to suit the ground – slightly lower in sand or loose dirt.

Growing riders change shape quickly, so revisit these settings every few months.

Teaching someone to ride on the Mini R

A low seat and twist-and-go operation make the Mini R an ideal learner bike. Progress steadily to keep things safe and enjoyable:

  1. Bike off: practise mounting, dismounting, balancing and squeezing both brakes.
  2. Straight lines: switch on and work on smooth take-offs and gentle stops on flat ground.
  3. Turning: add slow, wide loops around cones, keeping the eyes up.
  4. Standing and bumps: introduce standing on the pegs, small humps and mild slopes.
  5. Building up: increase the challenge only when every input is calm and controlled.

Short, positive sessions work best. Stop before fatigue sets in, and supervise young riders at all times.

E-Ride Pro Mini vs a typical pit bike

Budget electric pit bikes often run lower-voltage systems with modest power and basic suspension. They are fine for gentle laps of the backyard but are quickly outgrown. The E-Ride Pro Mini sits a clear step above: its 72V system and 8kW peak give it real acceleration and hill-climbing ability, hydraulic disc brakes provide proper stopping power, and 270mm of ground clearance lets it cope with ruts and logs that would beach a smaller bike. It costs more up front, but because it stays exciting for longer, it often works out cheaper than buying two bikes in quick succession.

E-Ride Pro Mini vs a petrol mini bike

Put it beside a petrol mini bike and the differences are obvious: less noise, no fumes and far less hassle. You will not store fuel in the shed, change oil or clean a carburettor, and a new rider does not have to learn a clutch or gearbox.

Low noise is a huge plus on private property, where a revving engine can quickly upset the neighbours. Charging costs very little, and upkeep is mostly chain care, tyres and brake pads.

Comparing the Mini R with the SS 3.0 and Hyper Bee

ModelPower / speedWeight / rider limitPrice
E-Ride Pro Mini R72V, 8kW peak, 70km/h48.5kg / 64.8kgFrom $5,190.00
SS 3.0 (E-Ride Pro)15.8kW peak, 100km/h76kg / 137kgFrom $8,299.00
Surron Hyper Bee58V, 8,000W, 65km/h39kg / 65kgFrom $4,939.00
Surron Hyper Bee, a compact alternative to the E-Ride Pro Mini

Both the Mini R and the Hyper Bee are compact bikes for lighter riders. The E-Ride Pro Mini brings a 72V system and 70km/h top speed; the Hyper Bee is lighter at 39kg and has an adjustable seat. Bigger riders should go straight to the SS 3.0. Compare all our bikes if you are unsure.

No. This is an off-road machine without ADR compliance, so it cannot be registered or ridden on public roads, footpaths or in public parks. Use it on private property and at tracks that permit electric bikes.

Road vehicles must comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs). If you want a registrable electric motorcycle, the Surron Ultra Bee HP is the one to consider.

Good places to ride

Private land (with the owner’s permission), motocross circuits and trail parks that welcome electric bikes are all ideal. Junior and novice sessions at local tracks are a great way for new riders to start. Read up on each venue’s conditions of entry before you head out.

Safety comes first

No feature on the bike matters as much as proper protection and sensible habits. Every rider needs a certified helmet, goggles, gloves, riding boots, joint protection and chest armour. Choose an open area well away from roads and water, walk it beforehand to spot hazards, and give younger riders clear boundaries.

An adult should supervise young riders every time, and keeping within the 64.8kg load limit ensures the bike handles and brakes as designed.

Ride-day packing list

  • Charger and power lead for a lunchtime top-up.
  • Tyre gauge and a small tool kit.
  • Spare gloves and goggles, drinking water, snacks, sunscreen and first aid.
  • A rag and chain lube for quick clean-ups between sessions.

Ordering online

  1. Check the rider’s weight – including gear, it must be within 64.8kg.
  2. Pay online – GST is built into the price.
  3. Select crated delivery anywhere in Australia for $250.
  4. Assemble and charge when it arrives, then ride.

Delivery and pre-ride setup

We send the bike crated to city, regional and country addresses; a little assembly is needed on arrival.

First, fully charge the pack. Then pump the tyres to the right pressure, confirm both brakes bite, pick a regen level and go over the bars, wheels and axles for tightness.

Charging habits for a long battery life

Plug the charger into a standard household outlet somewhere cool, dry and well ventilated. With a 20–90% charge taking around two hours, a quick top-up fits easily between sessions.

To get the longest life from the battery, do not leave it completely flat, keep it out of the sun and away from heat, and leave it at partial charge during longer breaks from riding.

Ownership costs

Apart from the purchase price, budget for quality protective gear and, over time, replacement tyres, brake pads and chains. With no fuel or oil to buy, running costs are a fraction of a petrol mini bike’s.

Because the Mini R suits riders across a wide range of ability, many families get several seasons out of one bike, which makes the E-Ride Pro Mini even better value in the long run.

Riding as a group

Quiet electric bikes make family and group riding easy. A bigger rider on an SS 3.0 and a smaller one on the Mini R make a great pairing, or buy two E-Ride Pro Mini bikes for a pair of lighter riders. Ordering two? Contact us first and we will arrange for both bikes to arrive together.

Before every ride

  • Battery charged and properly connected.
  • Tyres at the right pressure and brakes working.
  • Bars, wheels and axles tight.
  • Rider within 64.8kg and fully geared up.
  • Regen set gently for early sessions.

Keeping the E-Ride Pro Mini in good shape

  • Top up the battery soon after riding rather than leaving it drained.
  • Keep bike and battery sheltered from heat and moisture.
  • Look after the chain – clean, lubricated and correctly adjusted.
  • Do frequent checks of tyre pressures, brakes and fasteners.
  • Wash gently with low-pressure water, keeping it away from electrical connectors.
