Description
Surron Light Bee 2 in stock: Ultra Bee power, Light Bee weight
For years riders had to choose between the nimble Light Bee X and the far more powerful – and far heavier – Ultra Bee. The Surron Light Bee 2 ends that compromise. It slots between the two, packing the kind of output once reserved for the Ultra Bee into a compact, featherweight chassis that still feels like a Light Bee on the trail. Bikes are here in Australia and ready to dispatch.

The numbers are remarkable: 24kW at peak and 410Nm of twist, carried by a machine that tips the scales at just 65kg. Surron positions it as the machine that resets expectations for lightweight electric off-road motorcycles, and after riding one it is easy to see why.
Priced from $8,990.00 including GST. In stock for immediate dispatch. Off-road model.

Surron Light Bee 2 at a glance
This is the current off-road version of the bike. These are the changes that matter most:
- Power for its weight: 24kW and 410Nm from a 65kg motorcycle.
- Semi-solid-state battery: a 78.54V 45Ah pack with 3.53kWh of usable energy, good for a rated 108km at a steady 40km/h.
- New motor (EVO-2): more compact and lighter than the Light Bee X unit, yet considerably stronger.
- Bee Matrix controller: runs seven selectable riding modes.
- Electronic rider aids: Wheelie Control, three-level traction control and linear regenerative braking.
- New frame: a forged aluminium double cradle half as strong again as the Light Bee X frame.
- Premium hardware: 38mm Kashima-coated forks and four-piston brake calipers.
What drives it: the EVO-2 motor and Bee Matrix brain
Surron’s new EVO-2 motor revs to 8,700rpm – about 67% higher than the 5,200rpm Light Bee X motor – while its diameter is 9% smaller. Spinning faster from a smaller package is how the Surron Light Bee 2 makes 24kW, triple the peak output of the MY26 Light Bee X, without growing in size. Surron Australia lists the top speed at 90km/h.
Managing all of that is the Bee Matrix controller. It handles the seven riding modes and every rider-assistance feature, so the enormous performance stays smooth and manageable whether you are picking your way up a rock step or launching off a jump.
Seven riding modes explained
| Crawl | Slow, precise control for very technical ground |
|---|---|
| Eco | Reduced output to stretch range as far as possible |
| Daily | An even balance of power and efficiency for general riding |
| Sport | Lively response for spirited trail sessions |
| Track | Full performance for racing and track days |
| Turbo | Peak power in short bursts |
| M (Custom) | Build your own profile – power, torque and top-speed caps – via the app |
With this range, the same Surron Light Bee 2 can be tamed for a nervous learner in Crawl or Eco and unleashed for an experienced racer in Track or Turbo. M mode goes further, letting you create a profile from scratch.
The semi-solid-state battery: range and recharge times
The standout technology is the battery. Developed with QingTao Energy, the semi-solid-state pack is described by Surron as an industry first for a series-production e-motorcycle in this price bracket. It runs at 78.54V with 45Ah of capacity, stores 3.53kWh you can actually use, with cells rated at 320Wh/kg – and the whole pack is just 14.9kg.
Rated range is up to 108km at 40km/h (well beyond the MY26 Light Bee X); slow the pace to 25km/h and Surron Australia claims up to 160km. A 1,000W onboard charger (peaking at 1,200W) handles a 20–80% charge in roughly two hours, and Surron says the pack will exceed 1,200 charge cycles while retaining more than 80% of its health.

Rider assistance technology
No Surron sold in Australia has carried this much electronic help before.
- SWC Wheelie Control with Beginner and Advanced settings – approachable for novices, adjustable for experts.
- Three-stage traction control that limits rear-wheel spin so you can accelerate hard on gravel, mud or wet roots.
- Linear Regenerative Braking System (RBS) – a progressive regen lever that doubles as a backup throttle input.
- Surron app – connect via Bluetooth to change modes, build M-mode profiles and review your rides.
Auto hold and cruise control also appear on Surron Australia’s feature list.
Chassis strength, forks and stopping power
The Light Bee 2 is built around a brand-new forged aluminium double-cradle frame. Surron removed welds from the most highly stressed areas and claims a 50% gain in strength over the Light Bee X frame. A redesigned swingarm and beefed-up hardware let it handle big jumps, whoops and enduro abuse while keeping the light, playful character Light Bee owners love.
Up front sit 38mm dual-chamber forks with Kashima coating – the low-friction finish found on high-end motocross suspension – for smoother, more consistent damping. Travel grows to 215mm (the Light Bee X has 200mm), matched by a properly tuned rear shock and linkage. Four-piston calipers clamp a 220mm front rotor and a 203mm rear rotor for strong braking that resists fade.

What the Surron Light Bee 2 costs

The semi-solid-state battery is included, and the bike arrives in a crate needing a little assembly. Considering you are getting Ultra Bee-level power for only a modest premium over a Light Bee X, the value is hard to argue with.

Light Bee X owner? Is upgrading worth it?
If you take your trail riding seriously, almost certainly. The Surron Light Bee 2 costs more, but for a handful of extra kilograms you gain more than twice the peak power, a far tougher frame, better suspension and brakes, extra rated range and a much smarter electronics suite.
You are also less likely to outgrow it. Plenty of Light Bee X owners end up spending on power, suspension and battery upgrades in their first year. The Light Bee 2 ships with much of that performance engineered in from the factory – which is why many riders now buy one rather than modifying an older bike.
Surron Light Bee 2 vs petrol enduro bikes
This bike narrows the gap to petrol enduro machines more than any Light Bee before it, while keeping everything that makes electric riding appealing: almost no noise, torque on tap, no clutch or gearbox, and no fuel or oil to deal with.
At 65kg it is a lot lighter than a typical petrol enduro bike, so technical climbs are less tiring and loading up for a trip is easier. When comparing costs, include the savings on fuel and servicing and the benefit of much quieter riding on private land.
Getting the most from the Surron app
Connect the bike to the Surron app over Bluetooth to choose modes, edit M mode and look back at ride data. In M mode you set the output, torque and speed limits yourself, building a profile to suit a specific rider or a particular trail.
That makes it ideal for sharing one bike across a family or group. Dial in a gentle custom setting for a less experienced rider, then return to Sport or Track for your own ride in moments.
Where to ride the Surron Light Bee 2
The off-road Light Bee 2 is made for private land, motocross and enduro circuits, and trail parks that accept electric dirt bikes. Check each venue’s requirements beforehand – some need memberships or specific protective gear. Electric bikes are often welcome in places that turn petrol bikes away, but ride responsibly and stick to the rules.
Off-road status and the ADR version
The Surron Light Bee 2 on this page is supplied for off-road use. It lacks ADR compliance, so it cannot be registered or used on public roads. Keep it to private land, sanctioned tracks and e-bike-friendly trail parks.
Road-going vehicles must satisfy the Australian Design Rules (ADRs). A road-compliant Light Bee 2 is being developed, and you can reserve the Light Bee 2 ADR now with a $1,000 deposit that is fully refundable.
Stock and dispatch
Because the bike is already in the country, there is no waiting for a future shipment – your order can be on its way within days. Our stock count updates in real time: if the add-to-cart button is live, the bike is available to send.
Interest in the Light Bee 2 has been strong since it launched, so if it is the bike you have been waiting for, it is worth securing one while local stock lasts.

Maintenance tips
- Plug in after every ride – leaving a battery flat for weeks shortens its life.
- Keep both bike and pack away from heat, damp and direct sunlight.
- Clean, lube and adjust the chain often.
- Inspect brake pads, tyre pressures and fasteners, particularly after jumps or rough days.
- Wipe the Kashima fork tubes clean after riding to look after the seals.
Wear the right gear on every ride: an approved lid, goggles, gloves, proper boots, protection for knees and elbows, and chest armour.
