The Surron Light Bee X is the electric dirt bike most riders picture when they hear the Surron name: light enough to flick between trees, quick enough to embarrass far bigger machines and simple enough for a first-timer to enjoy. For 2026 the formula gets its most important update yet, with a 72V electrical system, a stronger motor, a higher top speed and a set of rider aids that make the bike more approachable than ever.

We sell the current MY26 version with its GST-inclusive price shown up front and stock levels that update in real time. Choose from four colours, order online and we will ship the bike in a crate to any address in Australia.

What changes on the MY26 Surron Light Bee X
Surron did not reinvent the Light Bee X for 2026. Instead it went after the areas owners talk about most – power, speed, range and confidence – and left the light, playful chassis alone. Here is what is different:
- 72V platform: the jump in voltage lifts peak output to 10kW and torque to 295Nm.
- Higher top speed: the bike now reaches 80km/h, faster than the model it replaces.
- Quicker-charging battery: the new 72V pack goes from 20% to 80% in roughly two hours and is rated for as much as 75km.
- Surron Wheelie Control (SWC): a rider aid that detects the front wheel lifting and trims power, with two settings to choose from.
- Surron app support: connect over Bluetooth to view battery health, switch riding modes and look through ride statistics.
- Centre-mounted digital display: speed, charge level and the active mode sit right in front of you.
- White paint option: a fresh colour joins Carbon Black, Sage Green and Phantom Purple.
Each change is useful on its own. Together they make the 2026 Surron Light Bee X faster for experienced riders and friendlier for beginners, and the bike is no bulkier for it.
How the 72V Surron Light Bee X rides
Snappy, controllable acceleration has always been the Light Bee X’s party trick, and the new drivetrain sharpens it. Peak motor output of 10kW and 295Nm of torque mean the bike drives out of tight corners and up loose climbs with less effort from the rider. Surron Australia lists a 0–50km/h time of 2.5 seconds, and top speed is now 80km/h.
There are two riding modes. ECO softens the response and stretches the battery for long exploratory rides, while SPORTS unlocks everything the motor has for maximum torque, pace and acceleration. An electric motor produces its full torque from zero rpm, so there is no clutch to manage and no gearbox to think about – you simply roll on the throttle and the bike goes.
That instant torque is exactly why Surron added Wheelie Control. SWC keeps watch on how far the front wheel lifts and reins in power to bring it back down. It has two adjustable levels, so you can run it tight while you are learning and relax it as your throttle control improves.
Battery, range and charging times
Power comes from a removable 72V lithium-ion battery using high-performance 21700 cells, with a capacity of around 2,500Wh (35Ah). Surron rates it for up to 75km when ridden at a constant 40km/h. Treat that as a best case: hilly terrain, heavier riders, cold weather and frequent full-throttle bursts all reduce what you will see on the trail.
Topping up is quick. A 20–80% top-up needs only about two hours, short enough to recharge over lunch and head back out in the afternoon. Because the pack lifts out of the frame, you can carry it inside to charge if the bike lives in a shed or trailer.

Frame, suspension, wheels and brakes
At roughly 59kg ready to ride, the Surron Light Bee X weighs a fraction of a typical petrol trail bike, and that low mass is the secret to how easy it is to manage. A forged aluminium frame keeps the weight low and centred, while the 830mm seat height fits a broad range of adult riders.
Suspension travel measures 200mm up front and 210mm at the rear – plenty for roots, rock gardens, ruts and small jumps. Four-piston hydraulic calipers grip 203mm vented discs on both wheels for strong, predictable stopping. The bike rolls on a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in CST off-road tyres (70/100-19 and 3.00-18), with 270mm of ground clearance to keep the underside away from obstacles.
Surron app and digital dash
No previous Surron Light Bee X has been this connected. Pair a phone over Bluetooth and the Surron app shows battery status, lets you change riding modes and stores your ride data for later. It also makes it simple to set the bike up differently for each person who rides it.
The new display sits in the middle of the bars and shows your speed, battery level and riding mode in large, easy-to-read figures, so a quick glance is all it takes.

Choosing your colour
The 2026 Surron Light Bee X comes in four finishes. White is new for this model year and gives the bike a clean, modern look. Carbon Black is the understated choice, Sage Green brings an earthy tone, and Phantom Purple stands out on the trail. The colour choice is purely cosmetic – performance is identical whichever you pick.
Is the Surron Light Bee X the right bike for you?
If you want one electric dirt bike that a beginner can learn on and an experienced rider will still love, the Surron Light Bee X is hard to beat. It is light enough to muscle around, fast enough to keep things exciting and calm enough in ECO mode not to intimidate. A 100kg load rating and 830mm seat cover most adults.
- Technical trail riders who value fast direction changes and sure-footed climbing in tight bush.
- First-time riders, thanks to the gentle ECO mode, Wheelie Control and the absence of a clutch or gears.
- Rural property owners who need quiet transport around acreage that will not bother the neighbours.
- Riders who love to modify – few electric dirt bikes have a bigger selection of aftermarket parts.
Need more performance? The Surron Light Bee 2 offers far more power and range. Need to ride on the road? The Surron Ultra Bee HP can be registered.
Surron Light Bee X price, inclusions and freight
The 2026 Surron Light Bee X starts at $7,490.00, and GST is already included in that number, so nothing is added at checkout for tax. Crated delivery costs $250 per bike to anywhere in Australia.
The bike ships with its removable 72V battery, packed in a crate for transport, and needs a little assembly when it arrives. Select your preferred colour before adding it to your cart.
Weighing up the price against other Surron models? The outgoing 2025 Light Bee X is cheaper while clearance stock remains; the Light Bee 2 asks more money in return for a huge performance gain; and if you want number plates, the Ultra Bee HP is the one to look at.

Where can you ride a Surron Light Bee X?
Like every LBX sold in Australia, the 2026 Surron Light Bee X is supplied as an off-road vehicle. It does not comply with the Australian Design Rules, so it cannot be registered or ridden on public roads or footpaths. Use it on private land, approved tracks and trail parks that permit electric dirt bikes.
Any bike used on the road must comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and then be registered with your state or territory. For a road-going option, the Ultra Bee HP is fully ADR approved, and the Light Bee 2 ADR can be pre-ordered now.
Parts and upgrades for the Surron Light Bee X
Part of the fun of LBX ownership is shaping the bike around how you ride. Our range covers Light Bee modifications, performance mods for the Light Bee, batteries and chargers and genuine OEM parts, whether you want more protection, better ergonomics or extra speed.
Good starting points are bars and grips sized to suit you, a bash plate for underside protection and tyres chosen for the ground you ride most. Not sure what fits the 2026 bike? Ask us before you buy.

Learning to ride the Surron Light Bee X
The Surron Light Bee X is very easy to ride, but its instant torque catches people out if they rush. Begin in ECO on flat, open ground and get a feel for how sharply the bike responds to small throttle movements. Practise straight-line braking first, then add gentle turns before you head for hills or rough tracks.
Keep Wheelie Control on while you build confidence. Unexpected front-wheel lift under hard throttle is the thing that most often surprises newcomers to electric dirt bikes, and SWC is designed to stop it. Switch to the looser setting once you feel ready.
Stand up over rough sections, keep your elbows raised and focus your eyes on where you want to go rather than on obstacles. After a handful of rides, most people are comfortable exploring SPORTS mode.
Surron Light Bee X vs a petrol trail bike
Ask riders who have swapped petrol for a Light Bee X what they noticed first and you will usually hear the same answers: how quiet it is, how hard it pulls from a standstill and how little upkeep it needs. You will not be carrying fuel, changing oil or annoying anyone with exhaust noise.
Weight is the other big difference. The LBX is much lighter than most petrol trail bikes, so lifting it into a ute or trailer, picking it up after a fall and threading it through tight singletrack all become easier. When you compare costs, factor in the fuel and servicing you will save over the life of the bike.
What it costs to own a Surron Light Bee X
Beyond the purchase price, running costs are low. A full charge uses a modest amount of electricity, and the main wear items are the ones every dirt bike goes through: tyres, brake pads, the chain and sprockets. There is no engine to rebuild, no oil or filters to buy and no carburettor to clean.
Budget for good protective gear if you do not already own it. Because the Light Bee X has such a large aftermarket, replacement parts are easy to find, which keeps downtime short.

When your bike arrives
We send the Surron Light Bee X in a crate to metropolitan, regional and rural addresses Australia-wide. Expect to do some assembly on arrival, mostly refitting the components that were taken off so the bike would fit in the crate.
Before you ride, fully charge the battery, set the tyre pressures, check that both brakes work properly and that nothing on the bars, wheels or axles is loose. Do a few easy laps in ECO to learn the throttle before trying SPORTS.
Keeping your Surron Light Bee X in top shape
With no oil, spark plugs or air filter to worry about, an electric dirt bike asks for far less maintenance than a petrol one. Build these habits and the bike will reward you for years:
- Recharge after every ride and do not leave the battery fully drained for extended periods.
- Park the bike – and store the battery – out of the sun in a dry, cool area.
- Clean, lubricate and adjust the chain regularly.
- Inspect brake pads, tyre pressures and fasteners often, particularly after a rough day out.
- Wash with low-pressure water and avoid spraying electrical connectors.
Every ride calls for proper protective gear: an approved helmet, goggles, gloves, riding boots, knee and elbow guards, and some form of chest or body armour.
